It ignores the idea that you have to have certain brands and equipment to get the desired look and shows how to work with what is available. Photography is taken down to the essentials and gives readers the foundation to build upon and learn. This book is good for all skill levels.

]]>The book is not intended to be one of the stereotypical “follow my plan and I guarantee you’ll see results,” books. Gravitt first outlines what the problem is, how churches need to build a good foundation for Christians to allow for solid growth that will hold fast in times of trouble. Having laid this foundation for the book, he moves on to building not a program, but an entire culture of making disciples.
Each part of the book is clear and simple to read. Leaders at all levels of a church can begin to put the concepts into use and work together to for disciples. The final chapter provides a plan for building a team that has discipleship as its goal. To form a culture, it is vital that everyone is committed to the goal. This book is a great read for any church that wants to help its members grow.

He makes it easy to work on a plan that will allow readers to form a plan to utilize online tools to reach customers and connect with them.
It will help people of all experience levels learn and take advantage of the tools that are available now. It also will lay a foundation that will be ready for any new tools that come out.

]]>Looking beyond that, the premise was good, but it seemed to be slow to develop. The plot was full of elements, but that made it hard for me to keep track of who was what. I did find many of the characters to be easy to imagine. Their descriptions made them relatable as far as picture how they looked and acted.
I wanted this book to be one I could read again in the future, but I had trouble getting through it this time.

Each section is very thorough and includes pictures that help explain the information and let readers see what the people and equipment were like. Anybody with an interest in space would find this book informative and engaging.

]]>Ella faces struggles that most people can relate to: disappointment, anger, fear, doubt, and others. With each one, she must decide how to deal with it and what she will do afterward. If that wasn’t enough, she also must learn to accept who she is and that she has a purpose.
I was a little hesitant when I started reading the book as it took some time to get going, but before long, I didn’t want to stop reading. The characters are relatable and the story is kept clean. The only downside I could list is the big cliffhanger at the end. But that just means that I have a reason to get the second book.

]]>Reece was able to escape the cities before things got bad and he found a place that he could live. As more and more of the modern amenities were lost, he found a true community. This group faces danger and choices, but through it all, they help each other. That is a major them in the book; choosing to help in whatever way you can so that others can benefit. Many characters in the story put aside personal comfort, and even safety, so that others get what they need.
Another theme that is prevalent is faith. Trusting others is something that Reece comes to grips with, but there is also faith that God is in control no matter what happens. It is done in a gentle way that won’t turn people off from reading the book.
There is a big twist at the end of the story that I did not see coming, but makes me want to find out what happens next in the series.

]]>No one will argue that Christians should be joyful, but what that means has been debated frequently. It is something that I have been looking into for the last several years. I knew plastering a smile on my face did not fit with what I understood about joy, so this book caught my attention as soon as I found out about it. In it, Greenberg writes that not only will we face sorrow, it is acceptable to be sad. Jesus, Himself, endured sorrow. The reason that sorrow does not dampen true joy is that joy comes from God. We do not make it or build it up. It is a gift that we receive with our faith, which is a gift itself.
This book is a great read for anyone that is facing a hard time. Even though I have not faced the same history that Greenberg has, I understand the idea of trying to build up joy artificially. The encouragement to turn to God to find joy is a refreshing idea that needs to be told more often, especially to those who are new in the faith.
