At this time, I’m not married. I’m not opposed to it, but I won’t hold my breath for it to happen in the next little bit (it would be hard to ask her if I had passed out. Not only that, it might give her the wrong impression to see me holding my breath when she’s around). There is nothing wrong with getting married as long as it follows God’s plans. The thing is, we have skewed that concept like we have skewed so many other things.<\/p>\n
Growing up, you were excluded from certain groups if you were not dating. It gets better as you grow older, but just because people don’t always discuss it. Some will have pity on you and try to fix you up with a date. I don’t guess there is anything wrong with that. I wouldn’t know from personal experience, though. I do think that it should not be forced on someone just because it is the socially correct thing to do. Marriage should not be a matter of convenience or social standing.<\/p>\n
Marriage should be done in love, not to keep up appearances, or worse, to keep up with the Joneses. A man and woman marry to work and live as a unit. They are to help each other, support each other, and love each other. You don’t get married to mark off another item on your to-do list.<\/p>\n
Right now, I don’t know if I’ll ever get married. That remains to be seen. Though I can’t really sit in a hole and wait for God to send a girl to me, I don’t want the pursuit of a wife to get between God and me. That would cause more problems than staying single.<\/p>\n
