To answer the first question, the title is short for What Would You Do? The idea of this post is to ask myself that question by asking whoever might be reading. That makes sense if you don’t look too deeply.<\/p>\n

I often wonder what it would be like to have the financial means to take on projects that would benefit others. You know how people dream of receiving a large sum of money and then plan how to spend it. Though I do have things I’d like to get, I try to share my fantasy money with others. Paying off someone’s house, there are a few I’d like to get better home\/office space for, scholarships, and the list goes on. I can come up with all kinds of ideas of how I would be generous with a fortune. I am still adept at being selfish with it.<\/p>\n

The big problem is I have not received that financial windfall, and don’t expect to. So what do I do now to help people? If I can’t give them some type of financial benefit, do I just throw up my hands and quit? I hope not.<\/p>\n

Money drives quite a bit in this world, but it isn’t the answer to everything. Can I say that, without money, I have have nothing? If I did, I would be wrong. I may be on the poor side of the economy, but I am not worthless. If you’re reading this, you can see something I have, words and a place to put them. My words do not flow eloquently from my mouth, but I still have a basic ability to communicate.<\/p>\n

If I can communicate and write, however basic it might be, that means I can think. That opens a whole new avenue of possibilities.<\/p>\n

If I spend 30 minutes on this entry, that means I have time and energy. Both of these have uses that can benefit others.<\/p>\n

Why do we limit help to money? We know that money doesn’t buy everything, but we treat it like it is part of everything. I’ve just mentioned skills and potential that I have, so what is keeping me from helping others? Many of these entries are done with a dream that someone reads them and gets something out of them. I don’t hear that much feedback, but that should not be the reason for this.<\/p>\n

What would society be like if we just help? Not thinking about what we don’t have or can’t do, but what we can do, and what we have to share. I’m sure it would be much better. But why guess? Someone once said that experience is the best teacher, so let’s give it a try and see what happens.<\/p>\n

Instead of holding words inside, and treating them like they’re some rare treasure to be squandered, let them out. Except for some of the jokes. There are some of the puns that need to be locked away.<\/p>\n

Any skills I have aren’t something that I should withhold like a certain cartoon water foul did with his gold. It isn’t wrong to put them to work so that you can warn a living, but they are not meant to be held for ransom. If you have an opportunity to help, it wouldn’t be right refuse to do so unless you received payment. There are times that doing right is all the payment you need.<\/p>\n
