However, a problem arises, and the ship goes to the future. Awakening in a place he doesn’t know, a man people call Paladin has to find out what is going on, and who he is, while trying to stay alive in the middle of an ongoing war. Templar Chronicles I, by Ray Slaughter, tells his story.

Paladin lands in a time of war, and the action of the story reflects that. There is plenty going on to keep a reader’s interest. I was able to keep tabs on what was happening easily, though some might find it a bit hard to follow. There are different groups involved, and the plot switches back on forth between them.

Much of the story is concluded, but the story line is left open for another book. That is to be expected, since this is the first book in a series.

Both youth and adults could find this book interesting, and young readers wouldn’t be exposed to a lot of gory violence, even with several battles being fought.

There are several grammatical errors: using the wrong spelling of a word, repeated phrases, and other things like that. These don’t distract from following the story, and not everyone will notice them.

Overall, the book was pretty good, and I stayed interested in it.

I received a free copy of Templar Chronicles I from the author in exchange for this review.

In 2076, a group of people are set to travel back in time to teach humans how to avoid extinction.
