Hyam is forced to leave the life he had after his mother died. Now, he must piece together his future from what he can learn of his past. Along the way, he finds out about a deadly foe, and that he is the one that must face this foe. His story is told in Thomas Locke’s Emissary<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Hyam has to deal with many emotions before he can move forward, loneliness, bitterness, sorrow, distrust. He finally learns that relying on these won’t help. He must overcome the hurt from his past and embrace the new friendships he receives. Hyam must also battle his perceived inadequacy and lead those who follow him.<\/p>\n

Locke tells the story in a way that spares no detail, but is also clear and easy to understand. The book captures your attention, and I found myself wanting to squeeze in another chapter before I put it down.<\/p>\n

Though it begins with different plots, they merge together beautifully. I had no problems keeping up with what was happening. I think the story was great and well written. The only issue I have is that I have to wait to read the next one.<\/p>\n
