Square maybe, but not normal. I actually find these boring. These “mindless” activities only hold my attention for a little while, then I’m off to find something else to do. There are a few exceptions to that, but not too many. So, what am I going to do to relieve boredom? That depends on how severe it is.

Minor cases can be addressed by reading something exciting, or working on graphic design projects. Since both of these are things that I do on a daily basis, they have their limits on how much they help. I might go outside and look for something to work on. That depends on my energy level and the weather, so it, too , has its limits. So, what comes next? Well, the answer is something that sets me aside from “normal.” When I get severely bored, I think.

Games, movies, shows, books, mainstream entertainment cannot hold my attention when severe boredom strikes. Pondering is how I entertain myself at these times. The subjects are varied (many of the posts here are results, though) and may be simple or complex. I might even throw some problem solving. One time, I figured out how many miles the 10,000 steps we are supposed to take a day would cover if one step covered 3 feet (5.368 miles). I can tell you are tickled pink to know that.

There are a few people that think I am weird for not liking movies and such. I just don’t think spending an hour and a half watching something holds a candle to solving a problem no one cares to figure out. If that makes me weird, so be it.

I don’t think I have ever been accused of being normal. Square maybe, but not normal.
