Jesus was called over 300 names and titles in the Bible, and all of them had meaning. These names and titles can help us understand Him and His purpose for coming to earth. Nancy Leigh DeMoss shares the meaning behind 32 of these in The Wonder of His Name<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The names that DeMoss writes about show more of Jesus’ purpose than we might think about. Several we hear often, like Jesus, The Word, and The Truth. There are some that are equally descriptive, but not as widely known, like Man of Sorrows, Friend of Sinners, and Advocate.<\/p>\n

With each name is a short explanation of what it means, both in definition and application for us today. DeMoss creates a book that helps us dive deeper into Jesus and what His life, death, and resurrection did for us. Along with the explanations are hymn lyrics, poetry excerpts, and quotes that further illustrate what Jesus’ names and titles mean.<\/p>\n

The calligraphy of Timothy Botts adds an element of visual depth to the book. Though the wonder of Jesus is the main subject of the book, the artwork helps to provide a focal point and, I think, and good way for each name to stick in your mind throughout the day.<\/p>\n

The meditations would be good for personal time during the day, or to share with others that you come in contact with so that each of you can think about the wonder of Jesus.<\/p>\n
