We often think of many ways to reinvent the wheel only to find that the original way was the best way. The same goes for our souls; the original intent to praise our God and worship Him alone is still the best intent. When we let our eyes wander to the other side of the fence, we find the grass isn’t as green as we had hoped for.<\/p>\n
Life is challenging to say the least. Yet, in Matthew 6:33, Jesus told us, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all these things will be added unto thee.” In other words, I need to look to God to complete what He has set before me to complete, go the extra distance that is needed, and not worry about myself. He sees to all that I need. When I am doing what He asks, it frees His hands to work in my life to His glory, and not my own. In the end, the results are far beyond my imagination.<\/p>\n
Yet even with that, more often than not, I find myself looking at other things like wickedness that’s in the world and wondering. Why do they strive in what they are doing and prospering, having what they desire, relationships, money, material possessions? I ask, “Lord, I am trying to serve You the best that I can. Why do I suffer without these things? Why can’t I have a help mate, or a new car, or even a house?<\/p>\n
So many questions like that can tear us down and apart, even to the point of losing our faith. Yet they are intended, I believe, to do the exact opposite. They are meant to grow our faith, to grow our reliance on our God. To trust Him in all that we do and all that He has in store for us. We need to remember those who have everything now may not have anything in heaven. As the Lord Jesus said, they have their just reward for their actions. They have what they sought after to have. That’s why we are also told to store treasure in heaven, for where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.<\/p>\n
In life, we will have many chances to advance His kingdom or our own. The question is, what side of the line do we want to be on when He returns? Our own or His?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
