<\/a>Willet Dura has to face a lot of conflict, and from all kinds of people, including himself. His choices will affect more than just him, and his life will not be the same. Patrick W. Carr’s The Shock of Night<\/em> weaves an exciting tale, and allows readers to view some lessons we need to learn in a different light.<\/p>\n

I really enjoyed reading this book, it held my attention and I read it every chance I got. The descriptions made it easy to imagine both the characters and events.<\/p>\n

It was never a dull read. Even though it was not all action, the calmer parts allowed the characters and plot to develop. There were several twists that I did not see coming and those added to the story.<\/p>\n

Though I enjoy reading good stories, they are even better when I can learn something from them. Though this book is fiction, there are parallels to the Christian life in it. Dura is faced with something he doesn’t want to do, and with it, a fear of losing what he knows and wants. There are times that he would rather just quit, or even run away from what he has to do, but he chooses instead to persevere.<\/p>\n

Carr has done another great job with The Shock of Night<\/em>.<\/p>\n
