<\/a>Though I have not heard more than a few, people can come up with all kinds of “reasons” for avoiding Christianity, They range from generic to personal, but only appear to be valid. Of course, knowing how to address these reasons is different than knowing about them, and Alex McFarland helps with the most common ones in The God You Thought You Knew<\/em>.<\/p>\n

There are a few responses that will stop any attempt to dissolve an objection, two of which are saying something to the effect of, “just because” and responding without love for the other person. People want to know facts, and McFarland provides facts that can be used to address objections to Christianity. For example, writing about the common one that says the Bible is full of mistakes and contradictions, he shows how the books all fit together to tell the same message and how the message has stayed intact through the years. Each of the 10 myths addressed in the book is looked at both on the surface and beneath it so that you can be ready to talk with someone that might bring it up.<\/p>\n

McFarland wrote The God You Thought You Knew<\/em> in a way that is easy to read and understand, no matter how long you have been a Christian. It can even be given to non-believers for them to read on their own. More than that, it is not written in a way that looks down on people who object to Christianity, but in a way that wants their objections to be met and dealt with.<\/p>\n
