Looking at the title could bring up a number of ideas about what this is going to be about. Hopefully, you won’t be disappointed to find out it is a book review of a book that I got for free from Waterbrook Multnomah because I agreed to write a review for it after I read it.<\/p>\n
When I first got Torn by Jud Wilhite (that sounds a little weird), I wasn’t sure what it would be about. I was afraid it was going to be a book claiming to have the silver bullet cure for when trouble comes. Thankfully, I was mistaken.<\/p>\n
What the book is actually about is that there are ways to cope with the trouble, and that the Sovereign God is in control, and ever present with each of us. When trouble comes, because it will, we should not ask why, but rather who.<\/p>\n
Who will we turn to? Why it happens is not going to have any lasting effect. Who we will go to for help will. God will get us through the trouble, it may not be how or when we want it, but it will happen.<\/p>\n
Jud Wilhite does a good job relating the message, using the Bible (which he frequently steers you toward) and personal stories, and telling it as an equal. He also includes humor with it, and that keeps it from being a heavy handed book. He also admits that the fixes can and will be hard, and even long, not something that will happen overnight.<\/p>\n
I feel that this book is a great one to read, whether you are going through trouble or not.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
