That can be true, but what if we hold to that thought too rigidly? What if we needed to be more into where we are right now?<\/p>\n

In Renovate<\/em>, Leonce B. Crump, Jr. urges us to consider that we need to be a part of where we are, not just occupy space there. The world as we see it now is not our permanent home, but we are here for a purpose. Always looking for something else causes us to miss opportunities that are right in front of us.<\/p>\n

We are to care about where we live and the people who live there. The same thing was told to the Israelites before one of their exiles. They were to live in the country and work towards its prosperity. They weren’t to turn away from God, but to live as His people in that country. We are to do the same, be representatives of God where we live.<\/p>\n

Though this book is directed more towards urban\/suburban settings, the concepts are true for rural areas, they just have to be applied in a different way. It is time that we stop hiding from the world in our “holy huddles” and go fulfill the Great Commission that we talk about so much.<\/p>\n
