Rodney Coe&#8217;s <em>The Rise of the Prophet<\/em> illustrates God&#8217;s love and steadfastness for His people.<\/p>\n<p>Joel grew up hearing that Adonai had a plan for him. He knew it was true, he just didn&#8217;t understand it all. Having strength comparable to Samson and a call to go spread the word of Adonai&#8217;s favor returning, he now knows what he must do. Though there are people that don&#8217;t want the message spread, there are those that are willing to make a sacrifice and help the word spread. Miracles start happening and more people realize the truth of the Book.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Rise of the Prophet<\/em> is a fast moving book, and it kept me wanting to read on so that I could find out what would happen next. There are different characters and areas that take part in the story, so there is some jumping back and forth between these, but the plot is easy to follow. Several of the people meet, and it becomes clear how the story all works together.<\/p>\n<p>God&#8217;s love and forgiveness are very prominent in the story, but so is His justice. Sometimes we forget that there is a balance there, God loves us more than we can imagine, but He will not let us do whatever we want. Another biblical concept that is easy to see is that we are each given a talent and purpose. Adonai called people to do certain things, and God does that for us.
