I am nearsighted (or as Moe<\/a> put it one time, I have short eyeballs). I fully admit it. I have to every morning when I get up and can’t see much more than a blur. It’s complicated in my right eye by astigmatism. While I could look up the proper specifics on what that means and is, I just want to leave you with one particular part of it. When I get a new pair of glasses, I walk uphill for a week or two.<\/p>\n

That last part really had no reason to be in here, I just like telling people about it.<\/p>\n

The fact that I visually can only see objects clearly a few inches from my eyes (without glasses) can pose problems. Though I can tell I’m looking at a wall without my glasses, making out details is impossible. Therefore, completing a task such as putting on my shoes can be done, but I’d be afraid to shave without my glasses. I think we tend to be nearsighted when it comes to God, as well. With our finite minds, we can only grasp a relatively small amount of what is going on.<\/p>\n

Try a short exercise. If you have been to a job interview, or been talking with a certain type of person, you are bound to have heard or been asked, “where do you see yourself in 5 years?” I was asked this on one interview, and it caught me off guard even though I had been warned it would come. I try to keep my plans to two weeks, maybe a month on some bigger plans, how am I supposed to know what I’ll be doing in 5 years? How would you answer that? I can fumble through an answer that will make the person move on to the next question, but I still don’t have an answer. I don’t know anybody that can tell you with certainty what 5 years will bring. They might have plans, but none of us knows what is to come.<\/p>\n

Here’s the thing, God knows exactly what 5, 100, or even 1,000,000 years will bring. He exists outside of time. Actually, He created what we acknowledge as time. Therefore, He can see the past, present, and future all at the same time. I can say that, and I do know that it is true, but, sadly, I don’t live like I believe that all of the time.<\/p>\n

To wrap this up, and to keep myself from going on and on, let’s skip forward a bit. God knows the future, and He knows you. While we can only see up to close to ourselves, as far as time is concerned, He can see all. His eyes are perfect. As He told Jeremiah, He knows the plans for each of us, and they are good (Jeremiah 29:11).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
