Myrad is adopted by a Hebrew magi and is taught the ways of the magi. Having a dream about the star that announces the birth of the Messiah, Myrad is set upon an adventure that takes him into danger. Through it all, he learns about himself, others, and God’s plan for his life.<\/p>

Patrick W. Carr’s The End of the Magi<\/em> provides a backstory to a group of people that we know little about. This fictional account holds true to the details given in the Bible and what is known from historical accounts, and adds a fictional plot to show something that could have happened in the lives of the magi.<\/p>

Once I started reading, it was hard to put the book down. Patrick Carr’s writing grabs your attention and he is able to hold it until the end of the book. Each chapter ends with just enough of a cliffhanger to draw you into the next one. The characters are well described, and you can imagine what they look like and how they act.<\/p>

As the story progresses, many of the people learn more about Jesus, and how God’s plans don’t always fit our understanding. Myrad learns that “undesirable” people are not excluded from God’s love or His will. The book carries lessons that many of us need to learn and share.<\/p>
