Books often just tell of accomplishments, and we are left to wonder about the details. Isabel Proudfit fills in details about Noah Webster and his course to create an American dictionary.<\/p>\n<p>Starting from his life as a boy on a farm, learning as much as he could, and going through his adult life, Isabel Proudfit tells the events that pushed and encouraged Noah Webster to learn and share knowledge. It tells of his struggles with fitting in, finding what he wanted to do and supporting himself and his family.<\/p>\n<p>Reading about someone in the setting of their life is more enjoyable than just reading a list of things the person did. Seeing Webster&#8217;s life from start to finish makes it easier to see what kind of person he was, and why his accomplishments mean so much.<\/p>\n<p>Written in a style that is better for older kids, but not totally impossible for younger kids, it tells the story in a way that is easy to follow, and it flows quite smoothly.
