Bad grammar aside, there is something more in that title. There are so many things we are able to do, but that doesn’t mean we should. All of us are capable of stealing something, but it is still wrong. Many times, we try to justify doing something we know is wrong.<\/p>\n

Here is one example we probably have all heard. Sharing gossip while maintaining the attitude of “being concerned” about someone. All the jokes about Christians doing that have a strong basis in fact. We know gossip is wrong, so we look for other things to call it. That way, it can be done because we are concerned about them, or we’re sharing a prayer request.<\/p>\n

From what I have observed, if there is something we want to do that we know is wrong, we will not necessarily turn from it immediately. We will think of ways that we can make it the right thing to do. If that fails, we might turn away, or we might try harder. We all have a rebellious streak, and it gets fed more than it should.<\/p>\n

Basically, we tell ourselves, “If I am able to come up with something that would justify my actions, it will be alright.” Most of the time, we can’t even buy that ourselves, why do we think God will?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
