I have gotten to the point of frequently counting my steps. Generally in 4s, though at times I just count the total number of steps it takes to get somewhere. I think the base 4 system stems from our front porch having 4 steps, though it could also be that 3 out of 7 staircases on the property have steps numbering some multiple of 4 (stairs tend to be my favorite thing to count).<\/p>\n
I don’t know why I count things, steps or otherwise, and I don’t know why I though anybody else would care to hear about it. All I can figure is that there is some connection in my mind between my family being able to count on me to count the stairs and all of us being able to count on God. I don’t have a good reason for all the counting, and I haven’t given God a good reason to love me. I’m glad He isn’t as fickle as I can be.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
