Even for people who are seeking the truth, reading the Bible can seem daunting. Thousands of pages, and maybe words that are totally new make it look like a big burden. The Wayfinding Bible<\/em> from Tyndale House and edited by Doris Rikkers is set up to help with that appearance.<\/p>\n

It comes with 3 different routes to go through the Bible to match the desire of the reader. I chose the shortest, the flyover route, so that I could get an idea of what it was like. With only 54 readings, it doesn’t take real long to read through that route and get a basic understanding of the message of the Bible. None of the paths look too complicated, though.<\/p>\n

The NLT version is easy to read and fit for most ages of readers. It comes with maps and little side notes to help you further understand people, places, subjects, and time periods. Along the way, there are sections to catch you up with what has happened and what is yet to come (nicely titled Getting Your Bearings). There is plenty of information to help the person that is just getting started in reading the Bible. Even people who have been reading for years can find useful things in The Wayfinding Bible<\/em>.<\/p>\n

I did have trouble with the footnotes. Instead of the superscript letters that I am used to, the notes were marked with asterisks. This slowed me down a little when looking at the bottom to see what the note was.<\/p>\n
