Some are very thorough and detailed, others are meant to give an overview. <em>Exploring Christian Theology<\/em>, by Nathan D. Holsteen and Michael J. Svigel, runs down the middle.<\/p>\n<p>Like many people, my eyes tend to glaze over when theology comes up. I know of its importance, but it seems like something professors talk about amongst themselves.\u00a0<em>Exploring Christian Theology<\/em> helps with this viewpoint by being clear, yet to the point. It serves as a primer for 2 main points of theology, the study of the church and the study of Christ&#8217;s return.<\/p>\n<p>It does not look to explain every aspect of these two points, but to give an introduction to them so that you can move ahead in learning about them. I found the key verses and the glossary quite helpful. I often hear words in reference to theology, but not what they mean. If I am not where I can look them up, I don&#8217;t find out the definition.<\/p>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t get the feeling of being overwhelmed with a huge amount of information. I also would not hesitate to go back and use the book as a reference later on.
