I came up with a new app for smartphones, and maybe even as a standalone device. I want to call it iAYE, but there may be complications. I believe it will revolutionize the way people pray. All you do is speak or type your prayer request, and you get an instantaneous “YES!” Imagine, do matter what you ask for, you get it. After all, that’s what God is there for, right?

Please don’t rush out to Google to find iAYE, all you will find is some sort of pirate game. I did not create the app, nor would I do so seriously. If I did, it would just be to further illustrate my thoughts that will come in a bit.

Even though this app is a dramatization, it isn’t far off from what we expect. As long as we end the prayer with some variation of, “in Jesus’ name. Amen,” our prayer should come true. After all, prayer is merely a formality, God is going to give us what we want as soon as we say those words. That’s how we tend to picture things.

I’m a fine one to even be talking about praying. I don’t think I could deliver an eloquent prayer if it would save my life. Eloquence doesn’t have a thing to do with prayers being answered, though. In fact, the words that are used don’t guarantee the answer we want. I’d say that all of us have, at one time or another, fallen prey to this thought. God knows our heart, the words should come from there.

If you were hoping for some definitive method, or strategy for prayer from this, you won’t find it. I’m in the same boat as everyone else. Prayer is not something that is easy for me. You want an out in left field thought, I can give you several. You want some “magic” prayer, keep wanting. I have found it difficult to pray what’s on my heart before. Not because I don’t want to, but because my mind keeps telling me I’m doing it wrong.

I’m glad we’re not given a grade on prayers, I don’t think I’d want to see mine.
