Needs to bake longer

I have had do many ideas that looked and/or sounded better in my head. They are so awesome, until they get release into the wild. I don’t know where the mishaps occur that turn such a great idea into something that needs to be buried.

Sometimes, this happens because I hurried into the decision. That is also accompanied by the fact that I often don’t know what I’m talking about. But, there is one other issue that crops up, my motive for doing or saying whatever it was. Proverbs 16:2 says that my all my ideas seem good to me, but God will look at why I want to do them. Do I want to help that person because I care, or because I want to brag about it later?

There is more to read in that chapter, Proverbs 16:9 says that my plans still require God to approve for them to be successful (very loose paraphrase). Another good one is Proverbs 16:18, pride comes before a massive problem or face-plant. I can make all kinds of plans, they might even be “good,” but want me to act out of love. Love for Him and for His children.
