Found Wanting

Here’s a question for you. Why do we get so upset when we don’t get our own way and never stop to think that God doesn’t get His way all the time, either? That sounds kind of odd, but He desires for everybody to be saved and yet, we have a lot of holdouts. Jesus was aware of this when He said He longed to embrace Jerusalem as a mother bird does her young, but they resisted (Matthew 23:37-39). 1 Peter 3:9 says that God desires for all to be saved (which also means we have plenty of work to do).

Keeping that in mind, why do we get so ticked off because the machine was out of the soda we like? Why do we get upset because gas went up? It bothers us, that’s why. We don’t want to endure even minor problems. Why do we not get that upset, and more so, that people are living without knowing Jesus? Is the soda more important than eternity? Are we too good to share the love God has shown us?
