Devotions for Active Boys

There are many devotionals for adults, but not as many for kids. Children cannot always understand concepts the same way adults do, so a devotional written for kids makes it easier for them to understand. The One Year Devotions for Active Boys is something that will help young boys get into and understand the Bible.

Growing up, I remember that sitting still to read something was not always easy, shorter meant that I was more likely to get through it. Each devotion in this book is a page, that makes it well suited for boys who are like I was growing up. The devotions are in kid-friendly language, and use illustrations that are easy to understand.

To help boys get the point, there are activities for them to do. Those vary from one day to the next, but include recipes, puzzles, science experiments, and crafts. These help with the topic, but can also serve as a way for parents to share in the devotions.

I like that boys will be familiar with the way this book is written. They can read it on their own if they prefer, and that will help build a discipline that they can use as they grow older. As an added help, a topic specific prayer focus is included for each day. Prayer is another aspect that many children need help with.

I received a free copy of The One Year Devotions for Active Boys from Tyndale House Publishers in exchange for an honest review.
