Whether you believe it or not, whether you want to admit it or not, demons are real. The harm they can cause, even as spirit beings, is real, as well. Trevor Black discovers this as he gets entangled in a large dark web of brutal murders and evil. Given the gift of sensing and seeing demons, he begins to pursue who is responsible for the crimes in The Occupied.

Trevor Black hits the bottom in his life and turns to Jesus to straighten out his life. With his new gift and outlook, he realizes that God has a plan for him. Craig Parshall’s book also addresses a subject that Christians need to be aware of, though in a fictional setting. Spiritual warfare is becoming more widely known, but there are many that would rather not have to deal with it. The Occupied does a good job of showing the fact that demons are real. Moreover, the book shares that Jesus is there to protect those that accept Him as Lord and Savior.

On top of the message, the book is well written and one that is hard to put down. The plot flows well, and Parshall’s descriptions make it easy for readers to imagine the people and places in the story.
