Stuck in Neutral
This morning, there was a story about creating gender neutral toys. I didn’t get to see the whole story, but I have heard about the concept before. Toys, clothes (pink appearing in the men’s department), why are we trying to make everyone equal in all things?
Yes, God counts us as equals, that is not what I am referring to. Why do so many try to even out the differences? Does giving everyone a trophy really work? If I was in a sports league, and got a trophy at the end of the year, I wouldn’t really feel that good about it. I’m not good at sports. There are some things I can do because of my size, but I am far from being an athlete, much less an award winner. There needs to be a recognition of the differences, and the fact that some people can, and others cannot.
In 1 Corinthians 12, Paul said there are different gifts, but the same Spirit. If God said it’s alright for one person to be good at something, but not all things. And that people won’t excel at everything they try, why should we work at changing that?
