Honest to God

There are plenty of things that we try to keep from others. Some are innocent, like a birthday gift or surprise party. But there are sins that we try very hard to hide away from people. More than that, we often try to hide them from God. Have you ever thought what harm this brings to us? Josh Weidmann explains how we need to be fully transparent to God, and how that will spread to being transparent with those around us, in Honest to God.

If something is embarrassing, we try hard to put it away from memory, and our sin is no different. When we know we did wrong, we will try to push it into the closet like we do with a mess when company comes over. God already knows what we did, so we aren’t fooling Him. We are really just hurting ourselves.

Weidmann tells how holding onto the guilt prevents us from fully experiencing God’s grace and forgiveness. This keeps us from living the life Jesus died to give us.

This is a topic that any Christian is liable to face, and Honest to God does a great job of explaining all the ins and outs of the subject. It is will written and easy to understand.

I received a free copy of this book from Moody Publishers in exchange for this review.
