Fiasco

Nowadays, fiasco is a terrible problem that arose, usually because someone tried to hide something, but it was found out. This lead to a large amount of shame. Some people may refer to this as an epic fail. Regardless of how you phrase it, the fiasco term has been misapplied over the years.

In Italian terms, fiasco is a bottle. According to one of my random facts books, it was originally a bottle that had a flaw in it. Since the bottle couldn’t be used for something like a vase, but was too good to throw out, it was used as a flask.

How many times do we throw something that is “flawed” away because we can’t use it for what we want to use it for? I don’t mean objects so much as opportunities. How many opportunities have we wasted because they didn’t fit “our purposes?”
