My Mistake

Something has been drifting in and out of my mind recently. There are a lot of people that say parts of the Bible are wrong. There are others that say God should have done something differently. Both of these thoughts point to the same conclusion, that God made a mistake.

God, unlike us, is perfect. He has never made a mistake (forget about that never say never stuff on this point). He is never going to make a mistake. But that isn’t what has crossed my mind.

What would it mean if God has made a mistake, even one? What does that say for us? From what I gather, it blows all of our hope out of the water. Think what ramifications that would have.

Could we trust Jesus’ sacrifice as sufficient? Could we trust God to know what He was doing? Could we trust anything at all?

It bothers me to even entertain a thought like that. It’s good that we can rest assured that God is perfect, and that what He has willed is right. That means that we, even with all the imperfections we have, are not mistakes.
