At some point in life, you’ll come across some reference to a Greek myth. Maybe in school, maybe in a movie, but it will be there. However, I don’t think you’ll find as funny a take on them as you do in Mashed Myths.
Covering 6 popular stories from Greek mythology, the book spins them and turns them into tales full of puns and funny asides. Humorous drawings, and plenty of farts jokes are worked into the stories, too. Though the basic premise is left intact, these versions are much funnier.
The book may not help you pass a Social Studies test, unless your teacher has a good sense of humor, but I think that it is helpful for a good laugh. Even with the twists on the myths, you still get the idea, and you can research the real versions.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
