Enjoy Your Bible

How to Enjoy Reading Your Bible takes something that we all know we need to do, and provides a way to keep it from being part of our Christian To-Do list. Keith Ferrin shares 10 easy steps that allow you to quit looking at reading the Bible as something you have to do, and look at it as something you get to do.

One tip that forms a basis for how to enjoy reading is to not set a number of chapters to get through, but use a time limit instead. This keeps your mind from calculating how many verses you have left, but it also allows you to read more each day.

Ferrin cautions that this is not to be an in depth study time, nor is it meant to replace any in depth study times. Using the tips will give you an overview of the big picture. He likens it to watching a movie several times so that you know the whole plot before you dissect individual points.

I had never seen this method advised before, and was a little skeptical at first. As I read through the book, I understand how this will allow you to look forward to spending time in God’s word; you get to spend time with God and learn. It is like spending time talking with a friend.

I received a free copy of How to Enjoy Reading Your Bible from Bethany House in exchange for this review.
