A Time to Die

How would you live if you knew the exact time you would die? In Parvin Blackwater’s world, that is reality; people have clocks that count down their lives. However, Parvin was one of a set of triplets and, with only two clocks issued to parents, she and her brother have been illegally sharing a clock. Now, that clock has less than a year left. What is she going to do with that time?

Nadine Brandes’ A Time to Die weaves adventure and suspense together with a search for purpose and faith. Parvin wants to be remembered after her death and she starts to believe that she has wasted her life. She commits to making something of the time she has left and helping others like her. Along the way, she begins to better understand God and His will.

I was drawn into the story, and wanted to read more whenever I was able to. It was easy to relate to what Parvin was going through: wanting to find God’s will and struggling to do what it right in the face of adversity. A Time to Die illustrates these problems that all Christians face in some way, but are often afraid to fully admit. Nadine Brandes uses Parvin’s journey to show how God is ever-present in our lives, and wanting to help us.

I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for this review,m but that had no effect on my opinion
