The Real Win

All men dream of being a winner, what they want to win at may vary, but the desire is there. There is a discrepancy between what the world calls success, and what God calls success. Colt McCoy and Matt Carter look at what real success, what God calls success, in The Real Win.

Winning is not about being famous, having money or having all kinds of possessions. However, that is what we often think about when we dream of being successful. God has something different in mind. He sees success in another way.

Drawing from their lives as a football quarterback and a pastor, they share what they have learned in life, and how they have had to change their goals. They discuss topics that all men will face, marriage, career, and also get into topics that aren’t real popular at times. The main thread that runs through the book is who do you trust and who do you serve. Too often, we put ourselves, or a goal, in the spot that God deserves.

McCoy and Carter don’t approach the subject as experts, but as men who have been there, and want to help. They share how they, too, have had to struggle with temptation to sin, and setting up idols instead of focusing on God.

This is a great book for any man, married or single, young or old to read.

I received this book from Waterbrook Multnomah in exchange for this review.
