Unstuck
Unstuck, by Arnie Cole and Michael Ross is a great book, and really explains how to get through a problem all of us face at some point.
What? You mean you want more? Um, OK.
All of us enter a time in our Christian walk where we seem to be caught in a mud puddle. You know the kind, the mud is thick and starts to pull your shoe off. Maybe it isn’t quite that bad. Maybe it’s just a rut that we’re stuck in. No matter the severity, we just seem to be doing the same thing, and we wonder why God is so far away, and why we can’t hear Him. God isn’t far off, we’re just not looking right.
It is easy to get to the point that we do the same spiritual things over and over. They may have worked for us or someone else, so we do them. There is no formula for being a Christian, and God isn’t going to speak to all of us in the same exact way. That is the point of Unstuck, stop trying to do stuff that you think God wants. Go to Him and find out from Him what you are to do. It is really quite simple to find out how, go to His word.
Arnie Cole and Michael Ross do a great job of relating their own stories of being stuck, and those of other people, to show that everyone can be stuck. That’s a given, what we need is to get unstuck. They explain that there is no magic method, you just need to get in the Bible, and listen to God.
Through out the book, they give verses, both in the text, and as a daily guide, to help you see how to listen to God. However, they also caution you to not let it become just a routine, because that will lead to being stuck again.
I received this book from Bethany House in exchange for my reading it and reviewing it, but I still highly recommend it to others.
