After Acts

Though the Bible includes a wealth of information, there are things that we’d like to know more about. Since we live nearly 2,000 years after the last events recorded in scripture, we don’t have access to the same first hand information available then. What happened to the apostles? What did they do after their last recorded act? Bryan Litfin sorts through church tradition to help us understand what went on After Acts.

We often hear about church tradition, and what it says about people like Peter and Paul Many of us don’t have the time or understanding to go through all of those writings. Separating fact and fiction can be difficult for the everyday Christian. After Acts seeks to help with that so that we can have a better idea of what went on during the time of the early church.

Bryan Litfin looks at what the sources say about the apostles, including Paul, and Mary after what is told in the Bible. Many of the stories have some degree of truth, some are flat out false, and Christians need to be aware so that they stay in the truth.

Though we still don’t know everything that took place, this book does a good job of explaining what is known. It is easy to understand and written in a way that everybody can follow.

I received a free copy of this book from Moody Publishers in exchange for this review.
