Fearless

What is it like to be a member of an elite fighting force and still maintain your faith? What is it like to face danger, and not back down? Is it possible for God to take someone with a bad past and change them? Eric Blehm writes about someone like this in Fearless.

Written about Adam Brown, a member of the top group of Navy SEALs, Fearless takes you on Adam’s journey from a young and daring kid, through his days of drugs, into his salvation and getting passed his addiction. It tells (what it can that isn’t classified) about his life becoming and being a SEAL.

Eric Blehm interviewed many people, from family to friends to team members, to get a complete picture of the life of Adam Brown. From childhood stories, to the trouble he got into, and into how he joined the elite Navy Seals and went on missions overseas, Blehm tells a complete story of what Adam Brown lived through and for. Through Fearless, we get an idea of what Adam Brown went through, but also how he put others first. He was always ready to push on, even when hurt, so that those around him could succeed.

Well written and very thorough, Fearless lets you see an example of facing large odds and relying on Christ to get you through, even if you do not survive. Adam Brown stayed faithful even in death. One issue I don’t like is the full curse words use in the book. I know that they are direct quotes, but I wish that all of them had been blanked out, not just a few of them.

I received this book from Waterbrook Multnomah in exchange for this review.
