Fair or not

At one time, we’ve all uttered something along the lines of, “Life’s not fair.” It is a widely accepted fact. I cannot dispute it, but I can add something to it. Not only in life not fair, God isn’t fair, either.

That won’t sit well with everybody if you just take it at face value, but don’t run off on me yet. If you were to truly sit down and think about it, you would agree. You don’t even have to sit down if you don’t want to.

Think about just one wrong thing you’ve done (I’m saying this to myself, too). It might be a lie, something you stole years ago, it could be any number of things. God doesn’t place a level of severity on sins like we try to do. A sin is a sin. Now, the first part of Romans 6:23 says that sin pays out death. Just that one thing means that we deserve death. But, that isn’t what God leaves it at, though He has the right to.

He goes on in that same verse to say that His gift to us is eternal life through Jesus. So, He isn’t treating us fairly. I don’t know about you, but I’m not going to complain about that.
