Jesus Was an Airborne Ranger

Jesus Was an Airborne Ranger coverJesus came to fulfill a mission, one that only He could carry out. In the course of that mission, He had to endure intense physical punishment and mental anguish. He also called others to follow in His footsteps and to spread the news of what He did. We may think of Jesus as an easy-going guy, but He is no wimp. John McDougall shows the tough side in Jesus Was an Airborne Ranger.

I was hesitant to read this book, I was afraid that it was written from the stereotypical macho military point of view. Besides, comparing Jesus to an Airborne Ranger seems a little odd to me. But, after reading it, I realized the comparison fit, and made it easier to understand more about Jesus’ mission as our Savior.

The book goes through the life of Jesus, from birth to resurrection, and shows how His life fit into God’s plan to save humanity. Though military terms and concepts are used, the ideas are easy to understand, and McDougall explains his points very well.

Even if you do not have a military background, Jesus Was an Airborne Ranger provides a clear explanation of Jesus’ mission to take the punishment for our sins and to redeem us.

I received a copy of this book from Blogging For Books in exchange for this honest review.
