We all know that the economy is in poor shape. There may be bright spots, but many people are struggling. What is the reason for it? Why are so many people scraping to get by? It isn’t a Republican vs Democrat problem. It’s a my way vs God’s way problem. Chad Hovind explains what we’re facing, what caused it and how to go about correcting it in Godonomics.
We are quick to blame political parties for the hard times we see, but that is a surface issue. What is really going on is the fact that we, as a country, are trying to do things differently than what God has told us. While trying to be fair about how everyone is affected by the economy, an unfair system has been put into place. Couple that with people who have been using an economic system that cannot support itself very long, and you end up with severe trouble.
Hovind maintains that if the country were allowed to be truly capitalistic, the problems we see would start to right themselves; people would have more money to keep and spend, prices would come down and jobs would be created. He admits that we may never get rid of all the hard times, but it would get better.
I have read some books and articles about the economy that were hard to get through, either because the words were above my level or they were just boring. Chad Hovind kept my attention and I was able to understand what he said.
Using scripture, he illustrated how he believes God gave us His example for the right economic structure. Hovind also takes time to present the gospel in the book.
I recommend this book to people who are wanting to make better use of what God has given them. I received a free copy from Waterbrook Multnomah in exchange for reviewing it.
