A fairly popular saying goes, “It takes all kinds.” Most of the time, this is said when someone has done something dumb, and another is commenting on the situation. It is generally meant as a veiled insult. Saying that makes it sound nicer.
I have met with that saying, and been the one saying it. Though I cannot condone the real reason for using it, there is some truth to it. It does take all kinds.
I sometimes wonder what a Bible translation I was allowed to do would read like. In thinking on this topic, I can imagine Paul being quoted saying, “It takes all kinds,” when he is telling about many parts of the body in 1 Corinthians 12.
Just like Paul said, the body needs the individual parts to function efficiently. So, those who do dumb things are needed just as much as anyone else. That is definitely good news for me.
