The Life

I have met people who are afraid, or intimidated, by reading the Bible. Whether they think they won’t understand what it means, it has too much information, or something else, they refuse to read it. The Life presents select topics in a way that helps get around these fears.

Addressing the life we find in Jesus, the book comes mainly out of John and Acts, but also has passages from Luke, James, and 1 John. The NLT version used is easy to understand, and makes reading the book less confusing for someone new to the Bible. You can find out about Jesus, and what He came to do for us.

The design is attention grabbing, but doesn’t detract from the message. It would probably be best suited for young people, but I would say most ages would find it appealing. It is laid out like a magazine or short book, and presents the passages in a straight-forward, but engaging, manner.

I think that The Life would be good to give to those who are seeking answers, but may not want to take on the whole Bible initially. It can serve as an entry point to the Bible, as the book of John is often recommended for someone starting out.

I received a free copy of the book from Tyndale House Publishers in exchange for this review.
