Raegan and RJ in Space

Sometimes, kids need a different way to see things. Comics, now graphic novels, have been used for years to teach in a fun way. Raegan and RJ in Space: Colonizing the Galaxy for Christ, by Richard Collins, uses the graphic novel approach to teach Christian values to children.

Children can relate to Raegan and RJ, and that makes getting a message across easier. Kids can see how we all should interact with others, being polite and respectful, and also aspects of the Christian life, such as prayer and recognizing God as our Provider and His guidance.

I like the idea behind the book. Personally, I think the graphics could use some work, but adults can be harder to please on that sort of thing. Many kids would be satisfied with how it looks. There are some plot points that are science fiction, but you have to remember that this is aimed at children.

I believe that it can serve to get kids to ask questions about being a Christian. I think a page with some things for kids and parents to talk about would be nice to include. Something like a guide on how to share the gospel with your kids.

Overall, I think this is a nice book, though there are some things that could be improved. I can see how it could open the door to share Christ with young kids.

I received a free copy of Raegan and RJ in Space: Colonizing the Galaxy for Christ from the author in exchange for this review, and as part of the BookCrash program.
