Things I’ve Said to My Children

said-to-kidsIt’s been said that kids say wild things, but they can cause crazy sentences in their parents, too. Parents often find themselves on the spot when addressing some silly antic from a kid. Things then come out of their mouths that they never would have imagined they’d ever say. Nathan Ripperger has been there, and compiled some of his crazy sentences in Things I’ve Said to My Children.

Though I am not a parent, I’m sure that I could have caused some sayings like this growing up, so I do find the book entertaining. There will be parents who are glad they are not alone in hearing strange phrases said in their voice. You can’t really be prepared for everything a kid will do, so it is nice to be able to be in good company.

There were plenty of laughs throughout the book, and several times that I was relieved for not having to go through any of what Nathan Ripperger has. Each saying is accompanied by a picture that illustrates what it says, and that adds to the fun. It is a good book to laugh off the stress of the day, and even to remind you of the joy that kids bring.

I received a free copy of Things I’ve Said to My Children from Blogging for Books for this review.
