Speed of Sight

Pete Plain doesn’t understand why so many things are going wrong. He has trouble at school and at home, and then his friend wants him to hide a banned comic book. That act sets Pete on a journey that he never imagined as he learns about the Speed of Sight.

After Pete experiences the comic book world, his boring life takes an unexpected turn, and he finds out that there is more going on than can be seen with with normal vision. He discovers that there are misty creatures working to keep the residents of Jericho enslaved. Using his new powers, he goes on a mission to fight the creatures.

C. R. Flamingbush’s Speed of Sight is a good way to introduce children to the subjects of faith, like trusting God and forgiveness, and it even touches on the armor of God. Pete experiences bullying and feels like things are against him, but learns that there is hope and that the Creator cares about him.

The book is well suited for older children as it is easy to comprehend and read. They will be able to understand with what Pete is going through and learn along with him. It can help parents introduce their kids to the topic of spiritual warfare.
