Mind-day

Today is Monday, Thursday of this week is Halloween, and I’m teaching a Bible study related to Halloween this Wednesday. All that so you know the background of the title. It may not help you understand it, but it makes sense to me.

There are several creatures that are always popular around this time of year. One of them is zombies. This might be on my mind because I caught part of a famous zombie movie this morning. Wherever it came from, or how it got there, it brought up an interesting thought. We have zombies in our churches.

That very likely never crossed your mind before, but allow me a little leeway, and I’ll try to explain myself. First off, think about zombies: they move slow, don’t think about others, attack people and turn them into zombies. I can almost guarantee that someone popped into your mind. I’d say shame on you, but I did the same thing while I was typing it.

There are people in churches that fit these qualifications. They drag their feet when asked to do something, especially change. They don’t take other people into consideration. If someone gets in their way, they will attack them and try to turn them over to their side.

Now, in the movies, zombies get shot, we can’t do that. Disclaimer: DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT HANDLING PEOPLE LIKE THAT! PEOPLE ARE NOT ZOMBIES!

We still can’t let these people go on rampages. We need to stand firm in the truth, and we need to pray for these people. Don’t forget, it could happen to you, it may have already happened to you.
