Hemoglobin Vacuums

It is now one day closer to Halloween, and I have a leftover thought from yesterday. Sometimes leftovers are good, but we’ll have to see on this one.

There was another movie that came on yesterday, but I didn’t watch it. It was a vampire movie. Vampires are really popular, both at Halloween and year round. I don’t know why that is, but it is widespread. Look at the movies and TV shows that feature them.

You can see “evidence” of them in churches, too. This is a good time to pause and say that I am not seeking to offend anyone. These posts are open to anyone to read, but they help me process the random thoughts and ideas that can rampage through my head. The best advice I can give you if you get offended is to skip the post.

A vampire is a creature that sucks the life out of others, is afraid of anything holy, and other things that are not needed for my point. Just like the zombies, they look to drain the enthusiasm from people. This is a quick way for a ministry to dry up.

Vampires are repulsed by holy images, namely crosses. Think how many people, even in church, are offended by the cross. They don’t want to think about the pain our sin inflicted upon Jesus. The happy part is all they want, not the suffering.

You could be tacky and add that some church members, like vampires, are not morning people. But I’ll leave that though up to you.
