Something I just realized, there are people who seem to be carrying a spiritual score sheet. I don’t mean a salvation by works type, but one where you get extra credit for churchy things. Being there Sunday mornings gets you a certain point value, but missing is not counted against you. Essentially, you just bank points that can be used to “purchase” stuff later on, sort of like reward cards.

In fact, they are a lot like reward cards. Both types of points cost you to get them. But they also differ in the spiritual points can’t be redeemed for Heaven upgrades.
