After waking from a horrifying dream-like state, a truck driver starts to find out about several heroic acts he has done on his route. He also remembers a girl that has been killed and others that were taken against their will. Now he must decide what he is going to do about everything that has happened.
In The Driver, David Nuckles takes on a subject that is continually on the rise. Sex trafficking is a problem that, though it isn’t new, has been made more public in recent years. I learned how serious it had become a few years ago, and since this book dealt with the topic, I wanted to read it.
I had a hard time staying engaged in the story. I wanted to read it, but I could only read a chapter, or two at the most, at a time. I guess the best way to put it is that I couldn’t connect with the main character. The plot and events were well described, I just had trouble getting into the book.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
