Conspiracy of Silence

Cole Russell wants to be left alone; people he gets close to seem to get hurt. But he has skills that are needed to stop a threat to humanity. Called into service again, he has to face a plague and assassins, but he must also face himself. Ronie Kendig uses both fronts to provide action and suspense with a spiritual message in Conspiracy of Silence.

In stories that are action oriented, there must be a balance in the plot so that it keeps moving but the reader can still keep up with what is happening. Conspiracy of Silence has that balance. Even with several different characters and locations, the story is easy to follow and moves along well. Ronie Kendig did a great job in keeping the book moving, but giving the reader points that they could take stock of what has happened. The descriptions make it easy to picture what the characters are like and the situations they face. Personalities are well described so that you can get a feeling of what the people are like, and this is where the spiritual message comes through.

There are a mix of believers and non-believers and, though it is sometimes in the background, faith and trust in Jesus is evident. Along with this, forgiveness, patience, love, and commitment are important themes in the story. The characters can be related to as they face the same spiritual struggles as we do in real life. I like books that have good stories, and those with good messages are even better.

I recommend Conspiracy of Silence to anyone that is looking for action and suspense.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
